  1. Holocaust is wholesale destruction.

  3. Holocaust was the name given to the mass
  4. persecution and murder of non-aryan races
  5. by the Nazis during WORLD_WAR_II.
  6. The Nazis believed that they were an
  7. Aryan race - the perfect race. Any
  8. 'undersireables' should be destroyed
  9. according to the Nazis. Undersireables
  10. included: Jews, Slavs, Gypsies and 
  11. political dissidents. An estimated six-
  12. million Jews died during the Holocaust 
  13. along with millions of people from other
  14. races.

  16. There were many things leading up to the
  17. Holocaust. These included the boycott of
  18. Jewish shops, public humiliation of Jews,
  19. the extradition of the Jews into the 
  20. Ghettos - such as Warsaw. The Nazis 
  21. turned the whole 'aryan' German race 
  22. against non-aryan races such as the Jews.

  24. The Nazi Party included Adolf Hitler and 
  25. there are many theories into the reason
  26. why Hitler disliked the Jews. These are
  27. described in Adolf Hitlers auto-
  28. biography 'Mein Kampf'.

  30. After the Ghettos were the camps set-up
  31. by the Nazis. There were many camps in 
  32. the areas occupied by Germany at that
  33. time. There were major camps which had
  34. smaller camps situated around it. All
  35. camps were situated on rail-routes so
  36. that easy transportation of prisoners
  37. could be implemented. The most 
  38. infamous of all the 'death-camps' was
  39. Auschwitz. Auschwitz was the biggest 
  40. camp and the most gruesome.

  42. When prisoners entered the camp by train 
  43. they had a medical check by two doctors
  44. who segregted them into those who they
  45. thought could work and those that 
  46. couldn't. If they could work they were
  47. made to help the German war effort.
  48. If they couldn't work - which included
  49. women and children, they were killed in
  50. the purpose built gas chambers.

  52. The gas chambers were designed for the
  53. job of mass-murder. The prisoners were
  54. made to take off all their clothes and 
  55. go into what they were told were 
  56. showers - where they would be de-lowsed.
  57. After they entered they sealed the 
  58. room shut and then an officer would
  59. empty a tin of capsules into the room
  60. through a little iron door in the roof.
  61. After he emptied the capsules in he
  62. shut the door and the capsules would
  63. give of cyanide gas. After a few minutes
  64. some soldiers would go into the room.
  65. When they opened the doors a blue-haze
  66. would be in the air and they found that
  67. the bodies would be in a pryamid going
  68. up to the iron door in the roof. Each
  69. person trying to get out of the room.

  71. After they were gassed, German soldiers
  72. took glasses, gold teeth, wigs or 
  73. other valuables from the people that had
  74. died so that they could be used for the
  75. war effort.

  77. In the camps, many people committed 
  78. suicide. Many tried to escape but failed,
  79. they would have been killed by the guards
  80. surrounding the camp or while climbing 
  81. the massive electric fences.
